Eisenhower State Park

Eisenhower State Park is located in Grayson County, northwest of Denison. The park is west of the dam on Lake Texoma. The park has plenty of trees to provide shade during the summer. It is situated on rocky bluffs above the lake. Full hook-ups are provided for RVers. There is a hiking trail that winds along the rolling hills of the park. The trails are not paved so be careful when hiking. A large protected cove provides a nice place to swim. Jet skies and powerboats are available for renting in several marinas near by. Denison is only a few minutes drive from the park. Drive into town and tour the Eisenhower museum, or see many of the olders homes that have been refinished. Downtown Denison has many interesting stores to see. The park was named for president, Dwight David Eisenhower. He was born in Denison and his home is now the Eisenhower museum.
Some of the activities to enjoy while camping there include water skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, boating, swimming and of course enjoying the wildlife. Nearby attractions include Bonham State Park, Eisenhower Birthplace State Historical Park, Lake Texoma, a haven for migrating and wintering waterfowl; the Grayson County Frontier Village, a rustic 19th century structure and museum, and the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge with 11,300 acres of land and water.
The park has campsites with water only, campsites with water and electricity, pull-through campsites with water, sewer, and electricity, and screened shelters. The park also has a campground pavilion, trailer dump stations, a launching ramp for boats, and for those lucky enough to need one, a fish-cleaning facility.
