My name is Allen LaTurner. I have been married to my wonderful wife Beth for 40 years. We have a daughter Christi who is a math teacher in the Irving Independent School District.
I retired in April 2008 from Jacobs Engineering, Inc. I was a Civil Design Technician in the transportation department. I was assigned to the Transportation division and worked mostly in the Bridge Section. We did Highway Bridges, Railroad Bridges. I worked for Carter & Burgess, Inc. since April 1997 until they were bought out by Jacobs Engineering, Inc. in 2008. Before that I worked at Bridgefarmer & Associates, Inc. as a Design Technician working on Highways, Streets and Drainage.
Beth graduated from North Texas State University with a bachelor's degree in 1969. Since then she has received her Master's degree. She is a Math teacher at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton. She has been teaching for 28 years (24 years in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, 3 years in Denison, Texas, and 1 year in Wilmington, N.C.).
Christi is now teaching in the Irving Independent School District.
We love to go camping in our RV. We have a 2006 Winnebago Voyage motorhome. We have had the motorhome for 1 1/2 years now and really enjoy getting away from the noise and stress of the city. Beth and I had planned on being fulltimers when we retired but have not done so yet. We have been reading about it and it sounds wonderful.
